    Meeting needs


    Every day new markets are being developped and customs-free zones are being created world-wide. We are experiencing an upsurge of communications and business transactions on an international scale. There will inevitably be a sharp rise in the sale of goods and services well beyond our borders.
     
     
    In this flourishing context, businesses are seeking qualified staff in order to carry out commercial, administrative and logistical operations, both for import and export purposes. Their personnel must be doubly competent with a good working knowledge of business procedures and also have fluency in foreign languages. The course offered provides ample qualifications to work in either the public or private sector.
     
     
    Marketing managers and their assistants must be competent in the following areas :
     
    · representation of the company
    · prospection and sales at home and abroad
    · the development and maintenance of customer files
    · the administration of international operations

    The courses


    Candidates will be required to be fluent in at least three languages, including French and English. They will also have a good level in computing and a sound knowledge of law, commerce, administration, logistics and transportation which will allow them to play an executive role in the development of all international business.
     
     
    Our teaching staff include university lecturers as well as professional people in the relevant fields, P
     
     
    The course with last one university year and will cover 550 hours of lectures. In addition to this there will be a placement in a working environment. However, this course is flexible and can be adapted to suit individual needs when, for example, students have work commitments.
     
     
    The course itself is divided into 7 units for which marks are given according to the European System of Validation (ECTS).

    Students will have a wide range of options and also projects can be done either individually or in groups. Ample time will be given to students in order to improve their language skills outwith the determined hours of study at university.



    The candidates


    Students should have already studied at university for two years or have attained an HND level. ETCS are accepted at European universities and can be part of a degree course at a foreign university. Students should be fairly fluent in three languages which are offered on the course. In English as a Foreign Language a minimum of 650 in TOEIC is required to obtain the degree.

    Candidates should have at least one month’s working experience before embarking on the course.
     
     
    Application for enrolment can begin in April. Application forms are available from the university. Interviews will take place at end June.



    Cherbourg University


    Cherbourg is situated on the northern peninsula of Normandy, and boasts a beautiful coast-line with breath-taking views. The break-water provides a wonderful haven for all water sports and sailing activities whilde has always attracted poets, artists, film-makers and visitors from far and wide.
     
     
    Local trade and industry include the Cogema with its nuclear processing, Les Constructions Navales specialising in ship-building, Les Maîtres du Cotentin who produce a wide range of dairy products, etc.
     
     
    Students can enjoy the many cultural aspects of Cherbourg and also partake in their favourite sports in the multitude of venues the town provides : swimming pools, leisure centres, stadiums, etc.
     
     
    The Normandy Peninsula offers a variety of coastal and country walks, so students can relax and breathe in the fresh sea air, enjoying the high quality of study that we offer along with the excellent quality of life.
